Laura Overton biography
Laura Overton is an independent e-learning consultant, with over 17 years' experience. Laura has worked with leading e-learning organisations - including NETg and SmartForce (now Skillsoft) - and has helped many businesses (including Unisys, BT, Cap Gemini, and Manpower) to develop sustainable e-learning strategies.

Critical success factors at the heart of Laura's success include:
understanding customers' needs and speaking the customers' language.
linking learning to strategic business drivers.
devising communication strategies which build commitment from all stakeholders.
creating programmes for culture change, to drive usage and acceptance of e-learning.
establishing processes to ensure the success of e-learning programmes.
As a senior manager at SmartForce for over 10 years, Laura applies her wealth of business experience in all aspects of communications, marketing and customer service to the strategic planning and implementation of successful e-learning programmes for global customers.

Laura has also taken a leading role with e-learning initiatives associated with the European Union and has contributed to e-learning recommendations for the UK’s Learning and Skills Council (LSC) as a member of the Distributed and Electronic Learning Group (the advisory board to the LSC).

Laura is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars and has also appeared on the BBC Webwise programme ‘Using the Web for Intelligence’.

Laura is a Fellow of the Institute of IT Training and holds a degree in mathematics and psychology.
